Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026
Acceptance
By creating an account or using Kitabu Yetu you agree to these terms. If you are registering on behalf of a group, you confirm you are authorised to do so.
The service
Kitabu Yetu provides digital bookkeeping, M-Pesa collection and disbursement, loans, welfare, reporting and related tools. Features available depend on your subscription plan.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of the records you enter, for keeping your credentials secure, and for ensuring your group’s use complies with its constitution and applicable law.
Payments & M-Pesa
M-Pesa transactions are processed via Safaricom Daraja. You are responsible for the correctness of payment instructions; Safaricom transaction charges may apply and are recorded in your ledger.
Fees
Paid plans are billed per the pricing in effect. Plan limits (members, SMS) apply; exceeding them may require an upgrade. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law.
Acceptable use
You may not use the platform for fraud, money laundering, or any unlawful activity, nor attempt to access another group’s data or disrupt the service.
Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, Kitabu Yetu is not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend access for breach of these terms, subject to your rights to your financial records.
